Interesting little article from the Newark Star-Ledger, reminding us that MUDs still exist, though their role has changed.
If you want to get a sense of how much the Internet has changed in 10 years, there is no better way than to delve into the world of MUDs. Think of a trip to a MUD as a way to travel back to 1994, when the Net was just starting to gain attention beyond a relatively small cadre of academics, scientists and Grateful Dead fans... Whereas they were once considered the Internet's raucous side, they have become a charming refuge from the loud, bright world of the Web.
